On 1st February 2018, the European Commission announced a call for pilot projects in the field of elimination of cross-border barriers. The related issues include employment, health, transport, multilingualism, cooperation of institutions etc. Maximum co-financing can reach 20,000 euro and the planned duration of a project may not exceed 15 months. Projects may concern, for example, the unification of legal norms or elimination of administrative obstacles.
Selected projects will form the basis for a study of innovative ways to solve border-related problems. Their results will be summarized in a compendium, which will be disseminated on a broad scale. Any public body (i.e. national, regional or local authorities), which wants to engage in the development of solutions of the above-mentioned problems in the area of their competences, may participate in this call.
The Commission will select a maximum of 20 pilot projects. The selection criteria will include a high demonstration value and potential for duplication. The deadline for submitting applications is 30 April 2018.
