The main objective of the project is to improve road and traffic safety in the Pomorskie Voivodeship on the Polish side and in the Baltijsk District on the Russian side. The implementation of the project will contribute to a decrease in the number of accidents along with the enhancement of comfort and safety of driving both for residents and tourists of the project area.
As a result of the project, voivodeship road no. 501 will be modernised, with the total length of 2.15 km, together with the construction of bus stops and pavements at the bus stops on the Polish side of the border. The activities planned on the Russian side include modernisation of the Ushakova street in Baltijsk with the total length of 0.92 km, together with construction and reconstruction of the drainage system with rainwater drainage, reconstruction of pavements, construction of bus stops and car parks, installation of road lightening as well as installation of signs and planting new trees.
Besides, the project will create a basis for solid cross-border cooperation through planned joint conferences, promotional festivals and exchange of experience in the field of effective road management practices and technological solutions.
