The main objective of the project is to support the local culture, to preserve the historical heritage of the towns of Svetly and Malbork and to develop the water tourism between Poland and the Kaliningrad Region along the international E-70 waterway.
The project in Malbork involves development of the boulevards on the Nogat River, construction of a playground and a viewing point and development of comprehensive technical documentation thanks to which a renovation of the town hall building will be carried out in future. On the Russian side of the border, in the town of Svetly, it is planned to reconstruct the waterfront, including establishing a ramp for boats, construction of an observation deck, installation of lighting, construction of small architecture and a rainwater drainage system. Due to the implementation of the project in the town of Svetly, the town park was also modernized, including construction of pedestrian and bicycle paths, a “craftsmen village”, a summer amphitheater and a sports field.
The project partners also planned to implement "soft" activities, including conferences and cultural events on medieval themes.
