POLAND-RUSSIA Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2014–2020
We are pleased to inform that the project entitled "Health is the most important thing”, was chosen by the European Commission as one of the 21 finalists out of 102 projects from all over Europe, who joined to the RegioStars Awards 2018.
The competition awards unique initiatives in regional development in Europe. Beneficiaries competed in 5 categories, including environmental protection, challenges related to migration or cultural heritage. The project with the participation of Kętrzyn commune and the city district of Oziorsk was awarded in the category "Creating better access to public services". The project was implemented from the funds of the Lithuania-Poland-Russia Programme 2007-2013 and its aim was to improving the health of the inhabitants of the border areas of Warmia and Mazury and the Kaliningrad Region as well as increasing the availability of medical services. Moreover, within the project, inhabitants were encouraged to healthy eating and preventive examinations. Medical equipment for local medical centers and school nursing offices was purchased and renewed.
