17th Polish Sociological Congress 2019-09-18, Category: Programme news

On 11-14 September 2019, the 17th Polish Sociological Congress was held in Wrocław, under the theme: “Me, Us, Them? Subjectivity, Identity, Belonging”. The Congress is the event which takes places every three years with the main purpose of integration of sociological community and propagation od sociological knowledge among broader audiences.

During four days of the Congress many open lectures, plenary sessions, symposia, debates and workshops were organized. In total, over 90 thematic groups.

As part of the event, there was a symposium „De/Re-Constructing European Borders in Times of Crises — Voices of Researchers and Practicioners", with the purpose of discussion about changes on the borderlands in the era of dispute around rebordering and securitization. Among the invited guests there was Mr Leszek Buller – Director of the Center for European Projects who presented the cross-border cooperation on the example of EU-funded cross-border programmes implemented within the Center of European Projects.

On the last day Ms Katarzyna Maria Bartnik – Head of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Poland-Russia Programme 2014-2020 took part in one of the thematic sessions with a presentation „Taking Advantage of Borders – Cross-Border Cooperation Between the European Union and the Russian Federation”.

During the whole event, the employees of the Center of European Projects provided participants with information on the cross-border cooperation programmes, including the Poland-Russia Programme 2014-2020, at the promotional stand.
