We are delighted to inform you that the virtual bike ride "Poland-Russia, the innovative format of which we described in our post on 26.08.2020, took place last month. Nearly 80 cyclists took part in the event. Together, the participants covered 3 366 kilometers in the eligible area of the Programme on the Polish and Russian sides of the border. During the bike ride, the participants had an opportunity to visit the projects implemented within the Lithuania-Poland-Russia 2007-2013 Programme as well as the projects that are currently being implemented within the Poland-Russia Programme 2014-2020.
We are also pleased to announce that we awarded 6 main prizes for covering the longest distances within one day. On the Polish side of the border, first place was taken by Mr Przemysław K., who travelled a distance of 203 km. Mr Piotr W. took second place for riding a distance of 180 km. Third place went to Mr Krzysztof W. for covering 102 km. On the Russian side of the border, Mr Ivan S. covered the longest distance on his bike – 125 km. We also awarded 14 special prizes for taking the best selfies – 7 to the Polish participants and 7 to the Russian participants. The choice was very difficult: all competitors met the conditions set out in the rules of the bike ride and were really creative.
