POLAND-RUSSIA Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2014–2020
The Annual Event of the Programme "Ecology without borders" took place yesterday. This time, due to the pandemic situation, the meeting was held online. Despite its different form, the event attracted a lot of interest. About 80 attendees took part in the Annual Event of the Programme, including representatives of Polish and Russian national, regional and local authorities, non-governmental organisations, research institutions as well as the beneficiaries of the Programme.
The webinar was opened with the welcome speeches of Mr Rafał Baliński, representative of the Managing Authority of the Programme and Mr Vsevolod Vovchenko, representative of the National Authority of the Russian Federation. Mr Rüdiger Strempel, Executive Secretary in the Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission was our special guest. Mr Strempel presented the current state of the Baltic Sea and the tools at our disposal to improve the marine environment.
During the Annual Event, information about the state of the play of the Programme’s implementation and information on the preparation of its new edition for 2021-2027 were presented. A discussion panel with the beneficiaries of environmental projects from Poland and Russia was also organised. The participants of the discussion panel told the audience about the activities, which they are implemented within the project, what are the benefits of cooperation with a partner from Poland/ Russia, as well as they told us about the activities, which they would like to implement in the next edition of the Programme.
