The main aim of the project is to strengthen and develop the tourist and cultural potential of Ełk, Stare Juchy and Ozersk by creating a cross-border tourist infrastructure, using and promoting the natural values of both towns as well as developing and strengthening the position of cultural institutions.
Within the project in Ełk the development of the park in the Konieczki estate was planned, including construction of a fountain, a pedestrian path with a running track, installation of lighting and monitoring as well as development of green space and installation of small architecture elements, i.e.: litter bins, benches and seats as well as bicycle racks. In the Ełk Culture Center the stage and auditorium are to be modernized, while in the Commune Stare Juchy the construction of a recreation and tourist park is planned. On the Russian side of the border, in the town of Ozersk, development of the Zarecny Park is planned, including cleaning the Angrapa River and its banks, installing a floating platform and purchasing equipment for cleaning the park.
Infrastructural activities are complemented by “soft” activities including two exchanges of children and young people in Ełk and Stare Juchy and in Ozersk as well as three cultural events – the Culture Festival in Ełk, the Summer Festival in Ozersk and the Yotvingian Festival in Stare Juchy
