The main objective of the project is to develop the cooperation between both hospitals in the scope of the most appropriate tools and methods aimed at adaptation to the adverse impact of climate change.
As part of the project infrastructure component, it is planned to reconstruct and equip the Neurology Ward with the Stroke Sub-department of the Suwałki hospital. The useful area to be reconstructed and equipped equals to 745.8 m². At the same time, the hospital in Chernyakhovsk intends to purchase specialised modern equipment for the Anaesthesiology and Reanimation Ward, the Department of Neurology and the Clinical and diagnostic laboratory.
A significant added value of the project will be ensured by its soft actions that foresee trainings and study visits for the medical staff aimed at increasing their knowledge in the field of impact of climate change on the sickness rate. Apart from the direct benefits for the employees of the hospitals, the project will also contribute to increasing awareness of the population of Suwałki and Chernyakhovsk (including local decision-makers) in the field of the climate change consequences. This will be achieved by organising a cross-border scientific congress and conducting an awareness raising campaign in the project area.
