On the 15th of December, 2021, a new 108-meter-long bridge on the Łyna River in Bartoszyce in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Region was officially opened. Moreover, in the same town a reconstruction of the regional road no. 512 along Poniatowskiego Street in Bartoszyce (about 590 meters) and the construction of a completely new road section with a length of 641.5 meters were conducted. The investment, exceeding PLN 51 million zlotys of the total cost, was one of the key projects implemented within the Poland-Russia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020, receiving co-financing from the Programme in the amount of 7.2 million EUR.

On the 6th of December, 2021, representatives of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Poland-Russia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 participated in the European Congress of Local Governments in Mikołajki. The event was held within the slogan ‘Europe after the pandemic: How to rebuild the local economy?’. Among the most important topics discussed during the panels, there were cross-border cooperation, financing regional development, smart solutions and creating favorable conditions for investment

In relation to the preparation of the new Interreg Poland-Russia 2021-2027 Programme and the obligation to conduct a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), we launched public consultations on the Strategic Environmental Assessment Report, which is the basis for the procedure being conducted

The 10th Forum of Regions – Partners of the Kaliningrad Region was held on the 7th and 8th of October, 2021 in Svetlogorsk. The organiser was the Regional Agency for international and interregional relations. The event was attended by Mr Igor Kapyrin, Deputy Director of the Department for European Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mr Normunds Popens, Deputy Director, the General Directorate for EU Regional Policy and other officials. Participants from Poland, Norway, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Sweden, Lithuania and other countries have joined the online forum. The main topics of the reports are related to the green and digital economy, cross-border cooperation, culture, tourism and climate change.

We would like to inform you that the findings from the ‘Women in European Cooperation Projects’ survey and workshop are now published in a Final Report that is available below this post. It was prepared by the ERNACT and it is also available on the ERNACT website.

On the 27th of September, 2021, a bike ride of officials to celebrate the European Cooperation Day, took place. The event was attended by the EU Ambassador to the Russian Federation Mr Markus Ederer, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Mr Dmitriy Volvach, Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Mr Anton Alikhanov and representatives of the regional government and diplomatic corps in Kaliningrad. It was organised along a section of a new cycle path, that is being constructed as part of the Large Infrastructure Project of the Poland-Russia CBC Programme 2014-2020 “CBCycle: Cross-border cycle routes for promotion and sustainable use of cultural heritage”
